Business Report Format – the Formally Accepted Paper Structure

Business reports are monthly or quarterly papers that are to provide precise and credible information. Therefore, business reports should contain reliable data, figures, and percentages. Moreover, it is essential to organize and structure the paper in accordance with the accepted guidelines to provide a clear view of the financial situation.
Hence, when one is assigned with writing a business report, he/she should analyze the information beforehand and to make a proper outline of the work. It is crucial to follow some set sections to keep to the right business report format.
Title Section and Summary. The title page is a face of any academic writing, thus, it should be performed in a proper format. The next important thing is to write an executive summary of the whole report. This part should be small in size, but contain enough information; therefore, it is good to use bullet point to catch the reader’s attention.
Methodology and Introduction. Summary of reports on business are followed by methodology section where one states methodologies used in the research and explains the choice. Introduction part reflects short overview of the problems and the aim of the paper. Both summary and introduction are more likely to hook readers’ attention if they are done at the end of the research.
Main body. This part of business reports provides literature overview and problem investigation from different point of view. One should use subheadings to organize information in portions. Moreover, it is essential to order information in order of its priority for the particular report on business. This section should also include the explanation of the relevance of the work done.
Conclusion. This section includes logical conclusions pertaining to the issue researched. It may also provide suggestions and discussions aroused by literature investigated in the main body of a business report.
Recommendations and Appendix. Here, one is welcomed to provide possible solutions and actions that might be effective in dealing with the issue investigated. It is good to organize these solutions in the form of bullet points. The detailed information, charts, diagrams, etc. are included in Appendix section. Though only a few people read this part, the information comprised here supports the entire paper.
