The strength of progress is determined by the physical health of the people. When people enjoy good health it will be reflected through the development projects that they undertake and without it nothing of significance will be realized. This is so far the reason why modern technology has not biased health care improvement. Several developments are being made in health care to ensure that medical facilities are available through reliable means. The day to day electronic devices are being utilized by health care service providers to ensure that all people irrespective of their geographical area and economic status have equal access to this modern technology.

Material Management in Health Care

Medical technology has been designed and developed so as to improve health care services. This technology seeks to improve the quality of health care by ensuring that medical services are readily available to anyone who may be in need. (Jimmerson, 2007) It is also to ensure that the medical equipment is compliant enough for quick and accurate diagnosis. There has been a need to improve medical facilities due to the fact that; when a disease is diagnosed early, treatment will also be made on time to avoid any complications that arise due to late diagnosis. (Sherman, 2007) It will also save the medical costs of the disease if it reaches a certain complicated stage.

Lives will be saved and people’s health improved which will have an impact on economic growth. To enhance this, computers have been designed and utilized not only to diagnose diseases but also to give information on the various facilities available and how they can be accessed. Electronic machinery like telephones, radios, and televisions have also been used to communicate to the people on the latest developments in health care. (Shearer, 2005)

The Internet has become the main resourceful device that is widely used to collect and gather information about various issues. Through it, almost all information about a topic is given in detail. (Arnold, 2007) Due to its availability internet can now be used by doctors and patients to find out more about certain diseases. Through this technology, a patient may not necessarily go to a doctor for a consultation about his condition. If he suspects that he is suffering from a certain illness, he can simply log in to a certain site that will give him more details

and clarifications on the same, and only goes to a doctor to confirm what he has found out. Patients can also meet doctors on line who may give guidelines on how to go about with their health issues. This technology minimizes on the travel expenses that would have otherwise been used to seek this facilities. Doctors and physicians can also find clarifications on the kind of treatment to offer to patients who consult them. (Veney, 2005) Telephones have been used to consult on the right dosage to be taken and also through them; the progress of home care patients can be monitored.

Emergency health care treatments have also been made accessible through telephone calls. What needs to be done in case an emergency arises is to dial the nearest ambulance services that will deliver the required services on time. (Berwick, 2002) Electronic media like televisions have been used as a means to inform and educate people about productive health. Through them they are made aware of the health services around them and the necessary precautions they should take to protect them from certain infections.

Easy availability and accessibility of health care services and equipments can reduce the number of casualties who succumb to their illness. Some terminal illnesses that develop due to late diagnosis can also be prevented if the equipments for regular checkups are made available to them. Procedures and guidelines for self diagnosis can also be offered through the internet which in turn reduces the length of queues and time by the patients who may want to seek the same services from doctors and hospitals.

Doctors and other health care organizations can also advertise their services to their customers and give them the necessary contacts where they can be accessed easily. (Aday, 2004) Medical health providers can also share information on the current developments on health care which not only enhance their relationship but also ensure that the patients receive quality medical services.

With continuous advances in medical technology, provision of health care services will not be an issue, if the health providers and the patients make good utility of the services. People will not have to travel long distances in search of health care services when they realize that all they need to do is a button touch away. Some illnesses and diseases that are caused due to certain lifestyle habits will be greatly controlled when people are informed early enough and take responsibilities for their health. (Dale, 2006)

Many mistakes made by the doctors through ignorance will be minimized because they can research and come up with definite answers which will help them prescribe and administer the right treatment to their patients. Patients on the other hand will have an exposure to the medical field which will give them the freedom to choose on the kind of services they need to receive. (McLaughlin, 2006) Life expectancy will be higher due to improved health.

With information, people will be able to adapt healthier lifestyles which will minimize on the number of people who die prematurely due to such illnesses. Doctors will have minimal and organized appointments as they can administer such services online. We also look forward to a future where patients will be their own doctors; they will do research on their conditions diagnose themselves and choose the kind of medication that is suitable for them. (Morrison, 2002) Congestions in hospitals will also be reduced as home based health care services will be more convenient and reliable.
